This past Saturday I drove to Western Carolina University to take a couple of e-session pictures with Jenn and Jan. Wow, was the weather perfect! I am so glad that it is finally fall! You will see in these pictures that Jenn and Jan have a blast together. We laughed and laughed the entire afternoon! I am looking forward to the wedding!

Yes, they always look this happy!

Jan was active with the performing arts group at Western. We were lucky enough to be able to sneak up on the set just before they started practicing.

This one just makes me laugh!

I had so much fun you guys! I know the wedding is going to be great and I can’t wait to meet the rest of your friends and family!

A couple of weeks ago I spent the afternoon in Marion, NC at Lake Tahoma on the “casino”. It is not actually a casino, but was built with the intention of it being a casino in the 1920’s. Now it is a beautiful place to get married.

The wedding day was just perfect! Big puffy clouds in the sky with a backdrop of vibrant blue.

The wedding hadn’t even started and the ring bearer was already tired!

My favorite moment during the entire wedding day is just after they are pronounced husband and wife. There is so much relief and joy and happiness in the couple’s eyes. This was their first moment as husband and wife….so sweet!

I don’t usually like my band shots, but this one really struck me. I like the loneliness of the trumpet player as he plays to a group of people that are busy talking amongst themselves.

New Studio!

As I write this post I am sitting in my new space…about 5 times bigger than the space where I wrote my last blog post! Orange Cat Photo has moved to downtown Hickory. For those of you from this area, I am behind the Spainhour’s store and where Ella Blu used to be. This is such an exciting time for me! I have an upstairs loft that has floods of light coming in through the big windows and even a view of the mountains! I plan to make it a natural light studio. I do also plan on continuing to do many sessions on-location. The downstairs will be my work area and a place to visit with potential clients. Of course I will always have coffee on hand, so if you want to just stop by and fika (Swedish for coffee-time and one of my favorite Swedish words!), you are welcome to just come and chat and enjoy my new space with me!

I took a few pictures of the downstairs. Work is still in progress upstairs, so I will get this up another time!
