in beautiful Savannah…….
(sorry, not much time to post!)

Here, there and everywhere!
Posted on September 29, 2008
Finally I am back from my week-long excursion on the east coast. I started in Charleston shooting a beautiful wedding at the Wild Dunes Resort on the Isle of Palms. It was the perfect day and I enjoyed it very much.
Day two I drove to Savannah to meet Sara and Adam for their engagement session. More on that later……
On Monday I drove to Bald Head Island where I learned from four fabulous photographers; Lena Hyde, Laura Novak, Audrey Woulard, and Tamara Lackey. My head is still spinning from all of the information and inspiration!
And on Thursday we were kicked off the island a few hours early to avoid the tropical storm approaching us and I headed over to my good friends Allie and Brian to stay the weekend with them. Thanks so much for your hospitality! I enjoyed it so much!
Saturday I was shooting again…a beautiful wedding at the Magnolia Manor, which should be featured in Souther Living or Martha Stewart or somewhere! The innkeeper, Sheila, just has the touch and her home is just lovely!
So here I am, at the office, with more than enough to do! I am slowly trying to catch up. I thought I would share an image from my last Charleston wedding as they are patiently waiting to see them! I promise to have them ready soon, Ashley and Ryan!

OUT OF TOWN
Posted on September 19, 2008
Just another reminder that I will be out of town starting tomorrow until next Monday. (Sept. 20-28)
I will be shooting and learning all sorts of new tricks and being inspired with four of the country’s best female photographers. I am so excited! But unfortunately I will be away from the office with limited email availability. But please email me should you need anything! dana@orangecatphoto.com
Here’s the sweetest picture of the groom and his son I took a couple of weeks ago. This little boy could not be more edible…..seriously cute!

My hubby
Posted on September 17, 2008
He may go with me to the destination but rarely does he actually follow me to the wedding and reception so I was happy to have him with me this past weekend. I had fun playing with lights and he was my test shot, which I thought was pretty cool.
So here it is…..I think he is mid-sentence but I still like it!

Out of Town
Posted on September 16, 2008
Just wanted to let everyone know that next week I will be out of town and out of the office. I will be shooting another beautiful Charleston wedding this Saturday, an engagement session in Savannah on Sunday and then I will be driving a little north to Bald Head Island where I will be attending a fabulously inspiring workshop called Learnfest. I have been looking forward to this week for quite some time and I hope to come back with fresh ideas and better photography! As if that weren’t enough, I will be in Raleigh the next Saturday shooting another wedding! I will finally make the drive home on Sunday where I am sure I will be greeted with open arms by my husband and kitty. (she will probably miss me more, though!)
So if you need to reach me….email! That is always the best form of communication to me. Otherwise, you can leave a message on my voicemail at the office and I will get to it when I return the next week. Erica will be in the 26th to take calls and to make sure everything is running smoothly.
And I can’t make a post without posting a picture, so I chose one from a wedding I did last weekend at Raffaldini Vineyards just north of Statesville. It is a stunning location and perfect for an intimate wedding. Tara Cargle of An Imagined Reality was the event designer and she did a fabulous job with the details!
Like I said….just one this time. There will be more later!

Kira + Peter
Posted on September 11, 2008
Luckily I was in Hilton Head the week before the hurricane was supposed to hit! Martin and I drove down for Kira and Peter’s wedding over Labor Day weekend. We stayed in Beaufort, which is a great little town to visit if you want to get away for the weekend.
Kira and Peter had such a beautiful wedding at Indigo Run Golf Course at Hilton Head Island. Guests drove from all over the country to be a part of their celebration. It was a special day and was just perfect.
Here are a few of the pictures:
The Bride and her stunning girls!

The groom and his men….

Ceremony shots and details…

Finally together….

And I have to say I was quite impressed with the dancing!

Meet my girls…..
Posted on September 9, 2008
I am so excited to official announce a group I have been a part of for quite some time…….
We are a group of ladies that are also photographers that have joined together to inspire, support and encourage one another. It has already been such a blessing to be a part of this exciting group as we share our lives; good or bad.
One great advantage we have which would mean the most to our clients (YOU) is the fact that we are ready to cover each other at a moment’s notice. This has already happened several times and instead of shooting a wedding solo with a bum ankle or while grieving, several girls were able to stand up and help out. So should I become ill without warning or even break a leg, there are 8 other girls that could help out should I need it. To me it is comforting to be able to offer this insurance to my brides.
So let me introduce you to everyone……

From left to right starting with the top row:
Bottom row left to right:
And then me on the end!
(whew, I think there must have been a requirement to have a hard-to-spell last name to be in the group!)
