Just a reminder….

That the mini sessions for Luke will be held TOMORROW! There has been such a great response so far but there are a few spots still open. Also, if you don’t have kids there is still an opportunity for you to participate. Joey of The Chocolate Lab will be donating a portion of his sales from tomorrow to Luke’s cause…..and seriously who doesn’t LOVE chocolate? He has special-made truffels and bars and all sorts of goodies as well as french-pressed coffee. Delicious! Also, for you ladies with a sense of style; La Jeune Boutique will also be donating a portion of her profits from tomorrow. So not only do you have a boutique full of cute clothes, you can feel good about splurging a bit because part of it is going to a wonderful family!

My bump and other news…

First of all don’t forget about the mini session benefit being held on Saturday at the Harris Arcade in honor of a very little heart patient. Thanks to the Hickory Daily Record for writing a story about it and putting it on the front page! You can see it HERE It is so great to have the community really coming together and supporting this little man and his wonderful parents. There is a lot of information about the specifics of his health in the article, which was interesting to read. He has been in surgery all day today, so please lift him up in your prayers today!

I have also had quite a few people offer to just give donations instead of doing the session, which is absolutely encouraged! If you are moved to do so, please send a check payable to Orange Cat Photo to 221 1st Ave, Ste 206, Hickory, NC 28601. I will collect all of the donations and send them one check when all is said and done. I will also include a list of all of the participants in this fund raiser.

Last week I got together with THE NINE and they surprised me with a baby shower! Such a sweet group of girls and I am so fortunate to be a part of it!

KATY COOK hosted the shower at her house in Marion and she did such a great job with the details.

Children of Zion

Most of you remember my first bride and groom of 2009, Katie and Patrick. They have such an interesting story about how they met while volunteering for an orphanage in Namibia. I just love to hear of stories of people meeting while doing God’s work and falling in love and getting married. So for those of you looking for that perfect someone please volunteer at The Children of Zion Village. Okay, I am kidding! But seriously some of you may be trying to figure out what to do this summer and what better vacation than to see an incredibly exotic country and help those in need at the same time?!

Erica, Orange Cat Photo’s associate, has started the year off busy! She was out shooting an engagement session recently and worked with such a cute couple, Katie and Zak, who is getting married this summer. They decided to do the session in downtown Hickory and found some great spots.

Amelia

Just before Christmas I saw baby Amelia for her 6 month session. I just love going to their house and seeing little Amelia, Eli the pug, and talking with fellow Tar Heel, Amy. Mommy Amy always has the best tips and considering I am right behind her I was all ears! She introduced me to gdiapers, which are organic, flushable diapers. I love using products that help me tread lighter on this earth and after speaking with her I am sold! You can check them out HERE. You will definitely see my baby sportin’ these diapers!

She also introduced me to the maker of this cute blanket, “milk lush“. She has a store on Etsy, which is a great place to find unique gifts and indulgences for yourself!

Little Kaitlyn

Last week I had the privilege of seeing little Kaitlyn and Bryce again. It was time for Kaitlyn’s 6 month pictures and boy has she grown! Last I saw her she was a brand new baby girl and now she is sitting and even has a couple of bottom teeth trying to peek out! Bryce was his usual charming self! Here are a few from the shoot:
