Well Olivia had a great day yesterday! The weather was magnificent and we had such a fun day. She had cake and some of papaw’s lemonade, which I didn’t realize until quite a few sips…but hey, it’s her birthday she should be able to live it up! Here’s a couple of shots with her balloons and birthday outfit.

One Year

Today marks the day that I became a mom for the very first time to my sweet little girl. My baby is one! Hard to believe how fast time has gone. She has grown so fast! In honor of her first birthday I thought I’d share just a few from her first year.

Here’s one from her first photo shoot just days after we got home. Thanks to my pal, Katy Cook, for these beautiful images!

After a week or so, I picked the camera back up and started shooting. What a sweet smile!

It didn’t take her long to start filling out…she doubled her weight by 2 months!

Lot’s of snow this year and a trip to Sweden for Christmas…she’s had a fun year!

Sporting the Carolina Blue! Go Heels! She was born only 2 weeks before they won the National Championship. I was at the first round games 3 days before she was born!

And here she is at ONE! She is beautiful, funny, cuddly, and has a great sense of humor. This year has been indescribable….she has come into our hearts and warmed our hearts beyond measure! Happy Birthday my little sweet girl!

I am so excited about the newest product here at Orange Cat Photo. We are now offering Letterboards. You can spell out anything you’d like; your kid’s name, L-O-V-E, your family last name, the possibilities are limitless!

Erica recently braved the frigid temperatures and drove up the mountain to shoot a very wintry e-session. Hallie and Matt got bundled up and just had a fun time in the snow…they met at Appalachian State so seemed appropriate to have such a beautiful snowy landscape for their portraits.

We love hearing back from our clients and here’s what Hallie said to Erica after viewing the portraits:

“Oh my gooosh I’m so excited!!!!!!! They are awesome Erica thank you so much” Hallie

Peacock Blue

It looks like this week is bridal week! I am loving posting all of these fun bridals…what fun ladies I have had the opportunity to work with! Amanda had peacocks as her theme for her wedding and she carried it through all way down to her toes. She is so cute and stylish! Here are a few from her session.

When shooting bridals on location you never know what is going to be yelled out by a passer by…especially in Catawba County! I don’t remember what this guy said, but we both laughed the rest of the session over it!

I LOVE receiving my anthro magazine every month…not only is the clothing inspiring, but the photographs are gorgeous. Great locations, beautiful muted tones…I could go on and on. Well I took that inspiration when I approached these bridals and I think the results turned out perfect. I am so excited to share these!

Fun with Balloons

Do you think spring is actually on it’s way? Well we are ready for it! I wanted to share some pics of this cute little girl. It was a little chilly, but she braved the cool air and was such a good sport! These are some early Easter pictures…yes, Easter! It will be here soon and appointments are filling up fast! This dress was made by Dawn at Bada’s boutique in downtown Conover. She has lot’s of styles and fabrics to choose from so go by and order your dress soon! Allie + Brian

I am so excited for my friends Brian and Allie. They have committed to working overseas as missionary next year and are getting ready for their big adventure. They needed pictures for their prayer cards and I was more than happy to help! We met in downtown Durham and as much as I hate Duke, the town is really up and coming and has lot’s to work with….can’t wait to shoot there again! Please pray for the two of them as they prepare both physically and mentally for this calling. They are both so inspiring and have such a passion for the people they are called to work with. Best wishes to both of you!
