Amanda + Trae
Posted on August 28, 2008
What a sweet couple! I have only met Amanda recently and so I was excited to meet both of them during their e-session to get to know them a little better before their October wedding. We had such a nice time and the two of them are obviously in love….and I don’t mean one of those couples that are always calling each other little nicknames and so touchy-feely that it’s hard to be around them (remember that Seinfeld episode…pooky?!). They are just genuinely happy to be together. I really enjoyed getting to know the two of you and look forward to your wedding…it is going to be beautiful!

Emily + David
Posted on July 15, 2008
This past weekend I had the honor of photographing Emily and David’s wedding here in Hickory. I thought I would share some of their engagement pictures while I go through the wedding photos. They are high school sweethearts so we had to make a stop at Fred T. Foard high school first.

And then we drove over to her parents’ house, which is on a beautiful location. We were lucky that these yellow flowers were blooming!

Just a few today….got a lot to do!

Kerbie + Brandon
Posted on July 14, 2008
Well my associate, Erica, has been busy this summer and I have yet to blog about what she is up to so I thought it was about time! A couple of weeks ago she met with the beautiful Kerbie and equally stunning Brandon for their engagement session. They started at Duke Gardens and moved to Carolina’s campus. (now you know why I chose this one to start with! haha!) Yep, you guessed it, Kerbie and Brandon are fellow Tar Heels! Erica did a fabulous job! It looks as though they had a great time together for the shoot…despite the heat!

Don’t they look like they could be models?!

*Love* the yellow dress!

And a fun shoot by the old well!

From Blacksburg to Charleston…
Posted on June 30, 2008
I have been doing a lot of traveling recently and two of my most recent trips have been to VATech and Charleston for engagement sessions. I love engagement sessions because we have a lot of fun and I even get a glimpse of your personality when it is just the two of you. It is so much fun!
Here is Michelle and Brandon. They met at school and so of course we had to do their engagement session on campus.

And here’s Lauren and Scott…fellow Tar Heel peeps….and trust me, it didn’t take long to get a glimpse of their personality! They are crazy and full of energy!

They loved to jump!

Susan + Erik

Wedding season is definitely here. It is sad to say, but when I have the most to post I don’t have time to post it! But I am going to try to do better than I have the past couple of weeks! There’s lot’s to share, but I thought I would start with some of my associate’s work since I don’t show what she does as often as I should.
This is Erik and Susan. They are absolutely adorable…and Susan you will have to email me where you got that yellow and black dress because it is just too cute! Erik went to App, so it is appropriate that Erica work with them! They ventured all over campus and then showed Erica where they got engaged on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It looks like they had a great time and I can’t wait to see the wedding pictures!

Allie + Brian

My good friend Allie is getting married! I am honored to be able to be a part of their wedding as the photographer (even if it will be in Duke Gardens!) This past Sunday we shot their engagement photos around downtown Hickory and, despite the cold weather, had a great time!
Here are a few pics from the day.

This one just makes me laugh!

Too Sweet!

A little photoshop fun!

Congratulations you two! I am looking forward to April!
Lindsay + Nate

This weekend I got to hang out with my newest friends Lindsay and Nate. They are originally from Michigan and just moved down to North Carolina. I am so glad to have the chance to get to know them! I think I will stay in shape if we keep hanging out! Our first outing was a sprint up Grandfather Mountain (we didn’t realize they closed the trails so early!). And this afternoon we hiked around River Bend Park. Here are a few from the afternoon.

Knoxville e-session
Posted on November 30, 2007
****First a reminder that this is the LAST weekend to order prints for Christmas. I will be out of the country starting Dec. 16th so this is a firm deadline.*******
Two weekends ago my family and I planned a trip to Knoxville to visit my brother and celebrate his birthday. (We are full of birthdays this month!) We decided it would be fun to go to the game, which was against Vanderbilt. Easy game we thought until after the first quarter Vanderbilt is winning?! We watch until the fourth quarter and they are still losing! But I learned earlier in life, you never leave a game until it’s over! (You fellow Maidonians should know exactly the game I am talking about!)
Anyway, the game ended 25-24 UT on top. It was so close that Vandy was kicking a field goal with 30 seconds left. It HIT the goal post. Now THAT is a close game. Boy were we glad we stayed. It is probably the best UT game I have ever been to!
I guess I didn’t have to write all of that to introduce my e-session couple that I shot the next day, but I think it is fun to talk about exciting games like that. And it gives a little background to my couple; one from UT and the other from Vandy! Needless to say we didn’t talk about the game very much!
The weather was perfect and we strolled around downtown Knoxville to get some fun shots before their wedding in the spring. Poor Darren had a terrible cold and didn’t feel well at all…but I think he did a good job of faking his happiness!

My lovely associate

There are probably many of you looking at my website wondering who in the world my new associate is. Well I have been meaning to introduce her for quite some time now but we have both been so busy!
Her name is Erica Harper and she is from the Catawba County area. She is currently studying technical photography at Appalachian State, where she is also the official photographer of the App State Marching Band program. She is a fun-loving chick with lot’s of creative ideas.
I thought it would be fun to get together during Thanksgiving break to shoot around. We played with lighting equipment and had a lot of fun! Here is a picture of her:

And here are a few she took of Martin and I:
