It almost felt weird to write 2011…I really don’t know where the time is going!

This has been a wonderful year. I have worked with some really great brides…many have been friends of past brides, siblings of friends, and even the daughter of my high school teachers! I feel blessed to go to a wedding and see so many I know. I feel honored to be trusted with such an important job!

I just love this family. I love to see these little kids mesh and love each other as if they’ve known each other from the first days of their lives. I love to see this adult couple loving each other like teenagers. I am a sucker for happily ever after and here is one right in front of me. Love you guys!

Poppies are in full bloom and now is the time to take advantage of it! I went out with Olivia and my friend and colleague, Amanda Caldwell Clendenin earlier this week and wanted to post a few that I took. This field is absolutely breathtaking and the girls had a great time playing with the flowers and running through the field.

I have been photographing these two for at least 3 years now. They are such easy going, happy kids and appear to even get along most of the time! Here’s a few from a session we did two weeks ago. It was windy and brother was not too fond of wind so it was tough to get him to be happy about this shoot. But big sister came through and knew how to make him smile…pretty sure I had bunny ears most of the time.

These images are from a session that I did a while back but I thought I’d share them since I never did. These three were so much fun…thanks to big sis’s request we jammed out to Justin Bieber during most of the time! Mom had them all dressed in simple, clean white, which I adore! I thought they looked so good in white with their brown skin and white hair…too cute!

Yep, she’s as pretty as her name! She has a little sister too, but wanted to quickly share a couple from our session last week.

Well anytime I get a phone call where I hear I will be taking pics of a family that includes a one year old I know it is going to be an action packed session! I mean, they’ve sat for their whole lives, why in the world would they want to sit still for me? I can’t blame them. So I just let them go! This was such a fun family…it’s easy to see that they spend a lot of time playing together as a family. I love it! Here’s a few from our session, which was in Davidson…love that cute little town!

Well even a photographer needs family pictures and since we are actually part of the photo we can’t exactly do it ourselves, right?! That’s what Amanda, Katy and I decided. We are photographers but we are also wives and mommies and we know the importance of standing still long enough to get a picture of what is happening around us. Our babies are growing too fast and need pictures to help us remember just how cute they were.
I can’t say we exactly stood still…but we did get pictures! It was nuts quite honestly! Kids were running around and the three of us were taking turns pointing our cameras at each other while blowing a whistle, making animal noises, screaming, singing, etc. We apparently made so much noise the cops stopped to make sure everything was okay…that was a first! ha!

Here’s just a few that I quickly picked out. It was a lot of fun and can’t wait to see our family pictures!

Well of course I had to take a couple of my own sweet one. I’m biased of course, but good grief she is adorable!

Can I just say that these girls are as colorful on the inside as they are out! We had such a great time and pretty much laughed the entire session. Pink was the color for the day! Here’s a few of them…

Well I have known this little one since he was born and it is so fun to watch him grow. He is quite the little runner too. Despite the 90 degree heat, he ran most of the session. What a fun kid!

So I have already learned this lesson, but quickly forgot. When using balloons with little ones you need to tie them to their arms or this may be the only shot you get!
