It almost felt weird to write 2011…I really don’t know where the time is going!

This has been a wonderful year. I have worked with some really great brides…many have been friends of past brides, siblings of friends, and even the daughter of my high school teachers! I feel blessed to go to a wedding and see so many I know. I feel honored to be trusted with such an important job!

I had the honor of working with Tara Mauldin last month for Emily and Joe’s fabulous Charlotte wedding. We worked with Jill and Katie of The Charmed Event who transformed the top of the Mint Museum into a glorious room of purple. It was fantastic! Emily and Joe were such a pleasure and kept us entertained the entire day!

What a beautiful day for Angela and Pete…I would never have imagined November the 12th would have given such beautiful weather, especially in Asheville. Angela and Pete were married at the gorgeous Basilica in downtown Asheville. Everyone then drove to the Crest Center for the reception. I wanted to share a few images from the wedding, but there are just so many, there just might be a part II from this fantastic day. Angela and Pete, thanks so much for allowing me to be part of your wedding. I felt so welcome by everyone! You are surrounded by a really great group of family and friends!

This summer has been filled with some really fun people. I am finally able to look through all of the images and share with the rest of you! I had the privilege of taking Keara’s pictures twice this summer. Once as a bridesmaid and then as a bride.

They were married at The Little Church on the Lane in Charlotte, which is just as cute as it sounds.

Brittni and Wes were married at the Crest Center, which is on top of the mountain in Asheville. I have to say that driving to their wedding I was very nervous because it was raining horizontally! It cleared up somewhat when I arrived and then just before the ceremony was about to begin the clouds broke up and the sun poked out to shine down on this lovely couple. It was really special. The rest of the day continued to be so sweet and special. Congrats to both of you! I know you have many happy years ahead of you!

Lot’s of great moments during the ceremony..including an letter reading from 11 year old Brittni to older soon-to-be-married Brittni. It was really quite comical!

AND the sunset..this is why you get married at The Crest Center. Little did we know that the storm earlier that day would lead to such a spectacular sunset.

Blair and Ryan got married this past weekend at Long Memorial Methodist Church in Roxboro and the reception was held at Treyburn Country Club in Durham. The rain threatened all day but as soon as the wedding was ready to begin, the skies cleared up and the sun shone down on us. It was pretty spectacular. It was good to see a lot of familiar faces again. I photographed Blair’s brother 5 years ago and have even had the opportunity to photograph their children.

A couple of weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing Lauren and Brandon’s wedding at Rock Barn Golf and Spa. It was a beautiful morning ceremony and we were so fortunate that the rain held off until the party was over! Congrats, you two! I know that this was a long time coming and I know it was worth the wait!

When I think of Kate and Charles I think about the laughter that came from being around the two of them. They are so happy together and Kate has this great infectious laugh when they are together. It was such a pleasure to meet everyone and was surprised to hear that everyone was from a small town called St. Matthews, South Carolina. This past fall I did a bridal session on an old plantation in St. Matthews…small world! Here are a few of the images. Their reception was held at The Venue in Asheville. The floral arrangements were magnificient and arranged by the premier florist in Asheville, Studio Flora Diva. Wedding Planning was coordinated by Nicole Riley of Verge Events. Asheville makeup artist, Blush by Wendy Ballance took care of Kate the day of.

After the ceremony the room was transformed into a sea of purple….it really was magical to be in the room. Great job by Maria Atkins of It’s a Wonderful Light on the light staging.

I L-O-V-E this image…proud mom looking on as father and daughter dance together. You will also notice baby brother taking pictures of sister and dad. I also love the grin on dad’s face…so much going on in this image that tells exactly how that moment felt for the family.

Best Cake shot ever! Cakes by Jane baked the cake. It was beautiful and scrumptious!

Last weekend I had the privilege of photographing Karen and Kyle’s charming intimate wedding. Not only did they choose the perfect venue, but they couldn’t have asked for a prettier March day! The wedding was at Westglow Spa and Resort. Here are a few images from the day.
