About Me

My name is Dana Andréasson and I am the owner and principle photographer of Orange Cat Photo. I have worked as a photographer for over 15 years now. I am a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill Journalism School and from there worked at a couple of medium sized newspapers as well as freelanced for Associated Press and Bloomberg News. I have some great experiences and memories from those years including catching a ball Troy Aikman threw while covering the Carolina Panthers (okay, it might have bounced first!). And covering the Iowa Caucus before George W Bush was elected president. I covered an event with George Bush at a nursing home singing hymns with the residents and even found myself in the armpit of Bill Clinton! (I can tell you about that in person!)
Despite the memories I still felt that I was supposed to do something else…something meaningful. And then a good friend asked me to take pictures at her wedding. At that moment I knew what I was supposed to do; capture precious moments for families to relive many years from now, to share with their children, and to remember loved ones.
I love what I do. I love to meet new people and learn their story. I love finding the beauty in everyone and capturing that on film. “]

On a more personal note

I am also a wife and momma to two sweet girls.  We love our family time and do as much as possible together.  I also love making ceramics, practicing yoga and being with friends. I am bilingual (Swedish) and we travel back to my husband’s homeland as often as we can.
